New Christmas Tree for Historic Downtown Buckeye

By: Lara Serbin, Buckeye Main Street Coalition

Red and green ornaments sparkled in the crisp morning sun. Blue Christmas by Elvis Presley was loudly playing from the roof deck of Buckeye City Hall as Charlene Powers Broadbent, CJ Broadbent, Cheryl Sedig and the Serbin Family decorated the City of Buckeye’s brand new Christmas Tree at 6th Street Plaza at 10AM last December 3rd, 2016.

The 16 foot high realistic Christmas tree had been a 4 year planning idea between City of Buckeye and Buckeye Main Street Coalition, a volunteer organization dedicated to revitalizing Historic Downtown Buckeye.

Once the project had the green light from the City of Buckeye who purchased the tree, it was Charlene Powers Broadbent owner of Powers Leavitt Insurance who researched and selected the tree height, light type, shape and overall ease of set up. Powers Leavitt also selected and purchased the high quality shatterproof tree ornaments that will bring enjoyment for many years.
